( canon ) Raymonda, the ballet.
( summary ) Here.
( canon point ) Defaulting to post-ballet, but can take her from any point in the story.
( notes ) Based on the Royal Danish Ballet production where Jean de Brienne is called Otto and the setting has become 18th century France rather than medieval Hungary.
PLAYER
( contact ) PM to this journal.
( active times/pace ) CEST/CET player. Tries to be online at least during the evening my time, but it varies. More one tag a day player than anything, but if you hit me up at the right time, I can still boomerang a bit.
( brackets/prose ) Definitely brackets preference. I default to present tense, but can also match other tenses.
( offensive subjects/triggers ) Not any.
IN CHARACTER
( physical affection ) She doesn't invite it and only appreciates it from people she is close to.
( physical violence ) I am daring you to give this girl a sword.
( relationships ) F/M or F/F with slight F/F pref. Outside memes that are specifically designed for it, I prefer not to assume any romantic CR unless relevant canon mates.
( psychic info ) Easily read. Let me know if you want to do something with that.
( magical info ) No magical powers.
( medical info ) Nothing of note.
( offensive subjects/triggers ) Raymonda as a ballet is built on a racist foundation, showing the ballet's villain, Abderakhman - in the Danish, Abderam, as a brutish, violent criminal, because he is Mauritian. In the Danish version, the race aspect has been downplayed and the focus is on the difference of values between the two men in the story rather than culture and/or race. The conflict is also resolved differently than in the original where Jean de Brienne slayed Aderakhman to win Raymonda back. Here, Raymonda begs them to put aside their differences and they shake hands on that. However, if you still don't want to interact with Raymonda, let me know and I will avoid tagging you, no questions asked.
OUT OF CHARACTER
( backtagging ) Yes, please!
( threadhopping ) No.
( fourthwalling ) Give me a heads up first, but otherwise okay.
( not interested in ) Smut, neither F/M or F/F.
